Howco were a global business long before we began working with them. They are in the metals business like Caledonian Alloys (we also introduced these two business and they now work together as partners) but their specialization area is oil and gas supply chain. Their problem was that they had a huge, centralized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) legacy system which was expensive to deploy and also difficult to train staff in. We worked with them to build an iport front end which not only simplified many of the processes, but also allowed them to build specialist applications in many of their global businesses, such as CRM and Bid-Management, yet still retain that all-important centralized control. With locations in the USA, Scotland, England, Norway and Singapore which could all service the same customers; a true web-based, real-time solution was imperative.
