SPAR’s aim was to improve communications with their customers and reduce costs of processing.

In such a diverse group, one of the key challenges was to identify their main customer types. The most obvious is the retail shopper, but the SPAR stores themselves are also customers of the SPAR group. It rapidly became clear that some of the biggest operational gains could be made by improving relationships with these key retailers.

The site focuses strongly on developing relationships with the SPAR stores through a feature-rich iport Portal. As well as order online facilities, retailers can use iport’s advanced CRM facilities to contact SPAR staff for additional information requests such as delivery information, sales and customer services issues. Other functions on the site include interactive news forums and online document management.

SPAR Shoppers
Consumers can visit the site to view in-store promotions, print eCoupons and enter competitions. This is aimed specifically at adding value to the SPAR experience for shoppers, increasing sales through the store and encouraging consumers to provide their details for future direct marketing opportunities.

SPAR Corporate
Provides corporate information: including objectives, company history and details of recent activities and initiatives. Contact facilities and a recruitment tool are also provided to encourage prospective customers to register their interest with SPAR.
