Alan Morris approached us before he had even started his business Fourply. He wanted to launch into a fiercely competitive marketplace – that of Facilities Management for retail premises’ maintenance – and he knew he needed to be different from the other players. He persuaded the Operations Manager of a major retailer to come to a demonstration of his ideas in action. At the time he didn’t even have an office and the presentation was held in our offices. We had developed a working model with Alan of how he could provide the Ops Manager with real-time information on which stores were calling in which types of faults, which faults were the most costly to repair, what equipment needed replaced etc. This was information that the Ops Manager could not get from his own internal systems and it gave Alan an instant advantage over his competitors. He won that bid and has retained the business to this day.
